THE National Airports Corporation (NAC) was proud to be exhibiting at PNG Resources Week at APEC Haus, Port Moresby, from July 13-18, 2026.As Papua New Guinea's gateway to the world, NAC showcased its vision for developing modern, safe, and commercially vibrant 22 national airports that support the country's growing resources sector, tourism, trade, and economic development.Visitors were invited to the NAC booth to learn more about:โข Airport infrastructure development across PNG;โข Commercial investment and partnership opportunities;โข Digital advertising and airport business opportunity; andโข NAC's commitment to building smarter, more connected airports for the future.
The NAC also invited all delegates, industry partners, investors, and members of the public attending the PNG Resources Week to visit the NAC exhibition booth and discover how they were connecting Papua New Guinea through world-class airport infrastructure and innovative commercial services.Meanwhile, on day three of the event, PNG University of Technologyย (PNGUoT) Vice Chancellor Professor Ora Renagiย shared a bold vision to become a world-class university by directly aligning higher education with industry needs.ย
Driven by industrial survey insights, PNGUoT is introducing five new specialised programmes: Petroleum, Aerospace, Computer, Software and Agriculture Mechanisation.To ensure international career mobility for PNG graduates, these five new programmes will undergo strict international accreditation benchmarked to Australian standards, alongside five other courses already accredited.Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) chief executive officer Lachlan Baird, called for greater collaboration between industry, government and institutional investors to harness Papua New Guinea's (PNG) growing pool of domestic capital to drive sustainable economic growth and deliver lasting benefits for future generations.
Speaking during the Finance in Resources and Energy session at PNG Resources Week 2026, Mr. Baird addressed delegates under the conference theme "PNG Resources and Beyond 50," where he shared NSLโs perspective on the important role superannuation plays in mobilising long-term capital to support national development.
