Prime Minister Hon. James Marape has told Parliament that the reforms being implemented across Papua New Guinea’s State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) are intended to improve their performance and strengthen service delivery to the people.

Responding to a question from Opposition Leader Hon. James Nomane following the Cabinet reshuffle, Prime Minister Marape said the Government’s ongoing restructuring and management changes within SOEs are designed to ensure greater efficiency, accountability, and better outcomes for citizens.

He said SOEs play a critical role in delivering essential services and driving economic growth, and reforms are necessary to improve governance, operational performance, and financial sustainability.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the Government remains committed to ensuring State entities operate effectively and deliver tangible benefits to Papua New Guineans, while supporting broader national development objectives.
