Port Moresby International Airport launches taxi service

THE outgoing Minister for Civil Aviation, Wake Goi officially launched the Premium Taxi Services at the Port Moresby International Airport on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 alongside NAC Board chairman, Jacob Anga, NAC senior management and representatives of the Premium Taxi operators.During his tenure, Minister Goi consistently advocated for international standards, professionalism and cleanliness across PNG's national airports, a commitment reflected in his challenge to taxi operators at the launch, to maintain those same standards."Employ people who have good attitude and who are professional.

Your vehicles must be clean, safe, comfortable, and fully operational. Passengers deserve vehicles that work properly," he said.Minister Goi, also challenged the NAC Board and Management to continue to implement positive changes for the benefit of the country and the people.NAC Board chairman, Jacob Anga, echoed the minister's sentiments, challenging the three contracted operators to maintain high ethical standards and to prove skeptics wrong with their high quality of service.The three premium taxi operators are:* ODESH Limited (trading as ODESH Taxi Services), Khoco Limited (trading as Star Trip) Pikup Ride Hailing Limited (trading as Pikup PNGThe premium service is aimed at providing professional and international standard service to passengers seeking a higher standard of service between the airport and their destinations. Key features include:

• Meet and greet service at the information desks located inside the terminals;

• Designated parking, pick up and drop off facilities;

• Metered and indicative range pricing;

• Advance booking through approved online booking platforms;

• Cashless payment options, including EFTPOS; and

• Professional drivers, well-maintained vehicles and enhanced passenger safety and comfort.

NAC acknowledged the concerns raised by the public and non-contracted taxi operators following the initial announcement of the Premium Taxi Service. To clarify, all non-contracted taxi operators will continue to be permitted to drop off and pick up passengers at their current location at the domestic terminal until further advise. The introduction of the premium service is part of the broader airport improvements and it complements the current and planned re-developments at the Port Moresby International Airport.
