Strengthening Pacific broadcasting
This month marks another important milestone for the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) as it strengthens regional partnerships through staff exchanges and professional development across the Pacific.This week, NBC is proud to welcome three colleagues from the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) to NBC headquarters under an existing Memorandum of Understanding.
They are senior radio presentation and programmes officer George Hoatamauri Jnr, senior broadcast officer Nilorier Malaiva Tavo, and SIBC TV coordinator Eliza Kukutu.
During their week-long attachment, George, Nelorier and Elizah will work alongside NBC journalists, producers and technical staff, sharing knowledge and building practical skills that will benefit both organisations.At the same time, NBC senior camera editor Wari Ila will start a regional secondment with Pasifika TV in Auckland.
Working with broadcasters from Tonga and Fiji, Wari will help produce daily Commonwealth Games highlights focused on Pacific athletes, ensuring their achievements are showcased to audiences across the region.Later this month, Tamal Watt and Michael Sanginumbuk will also travel to Auckland for a two-week professional attachment with Pacific Media Network (PMN) under another longstanding partnership.These exchanges demonstrate NBC's on going contributions towards building collaboration between public broadcasters. As public broadcasters, NBC’s strength lies not only in the stories it tells, but also in the partnerships it build.
NBC remains committed to working with Pacific neighbours to develop the next generation of media professionals and deliver trusted, high-quality public service broadcasting throughout the Blue Pacific.
