A voter in Rigo North Local Level Government has pledged to boycott the 2027 National General Election.

Simon Sai said successive governments had neglected Rigo North in Mt Obree and Mt Brown since independence in 1975 to this day.

Sai said there was total breakdown in their LLG and successive Rigo MPs and Governors of Central did not care about people living in that part of the country.

He raised his concerns in an interview with PNBMEDIA yesterday.

Sai, from Bigeborima in Mt Maria, said it was time voters abstained from voting during polling.

He said during national general elections, candidates were seen with ballot papers in every village but without government presence in their wards. He said this was a sad story that continued to be an issue.

He questioned what MPs were doing in Waigani.

Sai said Rigo and Central public servants were hardly seen in Mt Brown area.

He said they spent most of their time in Kwikila station and Konedobu.

He could not understand why such public servants were paid without visiting Mt Brown area.

Sai claimed that public servants and the leaders often conducted ghost operations.

He said the area lacked health and education services and roads were very bad, yet these projects were budgeted for in the national budget annually.

He questioned what the leaders and public servants were doing in their jobs.
